University Students’ Sexual Identity Development as a Determinant of Sexual Self-Hood

Sexual identity development was explored as a predictor of sexual self-concept and erotophobia–erotophilia using student sample. operationalized Worthington et al.’s Measure Identity Development, which is theoretically based on Marcia’s model. Based scale, there are four domains: commitment to one’s identity, exploration orientation uncertainty, synthesis/integration identity. Several Snell’s Self-Concept scales (e.g., depression, self-efficacy) Tromovitch’s Comfort with Sexuality comfort talking about sexuality, the activities others) were used define erotophobia–erotophilia, respectively. A sample students enrolled in an introductory psychology course at Canadian university completed these instruments.
